Okay well here’s a better post, the last one was crap.
I’ve played 4.3k hands of $25NL FR at Stars so far. If you’re interested in numbers (that aren’t important after such a small sample size, but people like them anyway), my VPIP is 20.02 and my PFR% is 9.58. My BB/100 is a 5.25 so far, for an hourly rate of $5.87 (over 19.15 hours).
These past 20 hours have taught me an amazing amount. I’ve learned something after every session I’ve played, and each time I play again, I’m a better player. I haven’t made much money, but I didn’t expect to the first week. It’s nice to be able to look back to hands I played even just two days ago and be like, “Wow I played that so badly … this is how I should have played it” when two days ago, I had no idea how it should have been played.
I plan to play another 20 or so hours of $25NL and then take a look at my numbers again. I’m obviously still making a million mistakes whenever I play, and I’d much rather be making the really bad ones at $25NL rather than $50NL. I hope that I can move up to $50NL by next week though. I will do so when my numbers after 10 to 15k hands are okay.
I need to leave PokerStars and go to a site that gives Rakeback. Just reluctant to leave the Stars interface, I’ve become very fond of it
I really miss playing MTTs and still am kinda sad that I don’t go straight to the tourneys tab whenever I load up Stars. I don’t hate cash though, I am actually starting to like it a lot. Learning something new and not making any money isn’t exactly fun, but it’s a good challenge and it’s satisfying when I learn something that I can put to good use.
3 hands I just felt like posting:
A really bad hand I had a couple days ago, never gonna make this mistake ever again with KQ!

This hand made me VERY unhappy with myself for a good half hour. Played every street after the flop wrong, especially the turn. The turn couldn’t have been any worse. For some reason I didn’t look at the stacks at all before I raised, didn’t even realize that the shorty would have only 30 cents behind. The other day Lukie told me that I should be raising the turn enough so that I can easily push the river … yeah didn’t do that.
I learned a lot from this hand though. And I still made a couple bucks, so it could have been worse

Anyway, thanks to the people who have offered comments in the HHs forum and who have given me advice. This would be way harder without such great people to help me out. I’ll be playing a lot this weekend, I hope it goes okay. I’ll update again soon, thanks for reading.
