I have a lot to share in this update!
First my Bankroll (mis)management story…
I withdrew too much from my bankroll ($2400) for Christmas, leaving my bankroll short. I wasn’t worried because I only had 2 negative days last month. Naturally I didn’t have a single negative day after leaving myself with a short bankroll…
I had five negative days out of the next six, including my worse negative day ever.
I also kept trying to play at $200NL and $400NLrecover even though I didn’t have near enough money left to cover a swing.
All of that crashed my $2,000+ bankroll down to a low of $250!! (I normally play with about $4000 online)
Stupid, Stupid, Stupid.
That wasn’t a swing that killed me, it was stupidity!!
I know better than to do that, but still did it….
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!
After that I finally smartened back up (better late than never) and moved all the way down to the $25NL game that was all I had the bankroll for.
It was time to rebuild.
I then had ANOTHER negative day as I re-learned how to play lower limits again. After that, I was back in business. I turned my bankroll around and started the process of rebuilding. I figured that it would take me about 2 weeks to get back to my 2k bankroll.
I’ve more than doubled what was left of my bankroll, and I now have enough for $50NL...
===============================================
That’s when something really cool happened!
But first a little background…
I have always stunk at SnG’s.
I just couldn’t make a profit in them, and with everyone saying how profitable they were I really wanted to learn to play them better. So about a month ago I placed $100 into PokerStars just to learn to play SnG’s and MTT’s better. I didn’t think of this money as a bankroll, I thought of it as paying to learn to play better in SnG’s and MTT’s.
Because it wasn’t a bankroll, I would be happy with it whatever happened as long as I learned enough.
Well, I learned a lot. I actually started making money in SnG’s.
Then I managed to win the wed night satellite to the $500,000 Guarantee (which I unregistered from to get the $215 in T$ to keep playing with)
Thursday night, I won the satellite again (+$215 again)
Friday night, I won the satellite AGAIN (+$215 again)
Saturday I won the $22 (180 man) SnG/MTT. (Well tied for first, we chopped) (+$900)
Then, I won it again (still on Saturday) (+$1080)
That $100 was a good investment!
In less than I week, I’ve changed that $100 into $2,179 on stars (after sending some money to my wife for her to play SnG’s with, and a couple other things)
