Going Going, Back Back To Party Party

At first I hated Party's new look and structure, but I'm working on getting used to it.

I'm moving back there because I've been convinced by my friends that the tournament players blow there, even at higher stakes, and it's essentially free money. My new Party name is Sharkaby... Don't ask how I came up with that one.

I've stayed out of the community forum's collective temper tantrums for the last couple weeks. Most of the posters who are regularly filling up the community and nowhere else don't really strike me as interesting or worth talking to anyway. What does your opinion in relation to the way a poker forum should be run even matter when you don't devote much time to learning and playing poker? I'm not invalidating anyone's opinion, just saying that maybe most people get involved just because they feel like it or it's entertaining to them, rather than them having a real productive suggestion or a fresh look on things that we can learn from.

Too Many "Andys" in the FTR Forum

I need to kill some of them off. icon_twisted

20/180 Fever

I have been playing a lot more 20/180 SNGs lately, and going deep pretty consistently. I have also incorporated $3.30 and $5.50 rebuys into my regimen, along with the usual $27 turbos. My bankroll is slowly reviving, and I'm very confident in my game.

More to come later.

A New Flavor

More and more lately, I've been becoming very serious about improving my game and just becoming a stronger player. With that includes coming back from my recent month-long downswing, and reviving my bankroll. I've talked to a lot of great players and they have all helped me in different ways. I've also played quite a few members of FTR heads-up and shared HH's, and it has improved my game tremendously too.

My friend ilikeaces86 convinced me to start grinding low-level NL cash games for a quick rebound, which seems like a pretty good idea so far. I've seen good results, quadtabling 100NL and 50NL on Party and keeping track of my hourly rate. I'm still playing MTT's, but not as much, and certainly not exclusively for a while until I feel comfortable with my BR again.

On another note, my friends and I are addicted to NHL 2K6 for XBOX 360. We take the games way too seriously, and we have created and drafted our own custom teams, and regularly discuss advanced strategy. My friend has a projector which lets us play on his whole bedroom wall. Needless to say, it's a lot of fun and a great diversion for us. Hanging out and playing that game is a great break from everything: school, my girlfriend, poker, everything.

This morning I woke up at 8:00 surprisingly, so I'm going to try and play in a few early MTTs, then just dominate cash games all day. icon_biggrin needless to say, having no Thursday class is awesome.

The Genesis

Hi guys,

I guess I have a blog now. I hope you like reading this, and I expect you to take something away from each and every entry, be it poker-related or life-related. My goal is to better your day from reading what I write, so feel free to surf on over while at work or whenever.

Anyway, let me start by introducing myself. For those who don't know me very well, I'm 20 years old and a junior at Central Michigan University. My major is Entrepreneurship, although I've changed it about 6 times, this one's here to stay. I am very serious about the game of poker, and I am constantly studying and learning more about the game every day.

I enjoy every great minute that I'm playing, no matter what the stakes or form, I'm always having a good time. I have come to think that having a good time and enjoying playing is the most important part of succeeding at this great game. After all, how can you grind countless hours day in and day out without a smile on your face?

I am an MTT player, although I play the occasional SNG between classes or sometimes when there are no MTTs starting. I hope to share some of my MTT-related knowledge and mistakes to learn from in this blog, for my own benefit and for others'. I consider myself a very knowledgable, very driven player, and my winning results are there as well, after countless hours of study and hard work.

I am also planning on telling some wild stories of my college life here at CMU so nobody gets bored, I'll try to keep a good balance between poker and my awesome-yet-crazy life as a 20-year old.

With that, I'll let you relax in anticipation for my next entry... Have a good day, and good luck at the tables!
